Items and Substitutions

- Feta: Use a block of feta packed in brine rather than pre-crumbled feta because it melts better.
- Grape tomatoes: You want ripe grape tomatoes so that roasting them really brings out their sweetness.
- Olive oil: The higher the quality, the more the flavor will shine through. You could use a flavored oil as well.

How To Make Baked Feta In The Air Fryer

Step 1: Place the feta block and halved tomatoes onto a parchment-lined air fryer tray with olive oil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Arrange the tomatoes around the feta before air frying.

Step 2: Top with the remaining sprigs of fresh thyme and sprinkle with garlic, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Drizzle the remaining olive oil all over the halved tomatoes and the block of feta.

Step 3: Air Fry for 10 to 12 minutes or until the feta turns slightly golden.

Step 4: Serve with your favorite saltines or keto crackers.
Note
Make sure to pat the tomatoes dry before adding them to the air fryer to prevent excess moisture from making the dish too watery.
Helpful Hints
Pro tip: Use a block of feta, not crumbled
Crumbled feta won’t hold together or melt the same way, so a whole block works best.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer: Give the ingredients some space so the air circulates well and everything roasts evenly.
- Keep an eye on the cooking time: Air fryer models vary, so check the feta around the 10-minute mark to avoid over-browning.
- Line with parchment paper: This helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup much easier.
- Add a splash of lemon juice before serving: It brightens the dish and just gives everything a bit of a lift.
- Storing: Let the warm feta dip with tomatoes cool completely and transfer it to an airtight container. Keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheating: You can reheat it in the air fryer at 350°F for about 5 minutes or until warmed through. Alternatively, you can warm it in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring gently in between to help the feta melt evenly.
