This warm, melty, and festive air fryer orange cranberry baked brie is perfect for holiday gatherings. A simple yet elegant appetizer that always impresses guests.

A plate with a cheese round coated in chopped nuts and herbs, surrounded by crackers, walnuts, orange slices, and dollops of dark red jelly.

When it comes to appetizers, I always look for recipes that feel special but don’t require hours in the kitchen. That’s why I love making baked brie, especially around the holidays. It’s one of those dishes that looks fancy on the table, but it only takes minutes to pull together.

I remember the first time I served brie with a fruity topping. I was amazed at how quickly it disappeared. People kept asking if I spent all day in the kitchen, and I had to laugh because it was probably one of the easiest things I made that week. Pairing the creamy cheese with bright cranberry and a hint of orange has since become a tradition in my home.

Using the air fryer makes this appetizer even more convenient. Instead of heating up the oven or juggling baking times with other holiday dishes, I can pop the brie in the air fryer and have it ready in no time. It’s stress-free, crowd-pleasing, and honestly one of my go-to ways to start a festive meal with family and friends.

Items Needed

A plate with fresh rosemary and an orange, a jar of jam, a wheel of cheese, chopped nuts, and breadcrumbs arranged on a white surface.

Here’s what you’ll need to make orange cranberry baked brie:

  • Brie – Provides a rich, creamy, and melty base that pairs perfectly with sweet and savory toppings.
  • Cranberry sauce – Adds a sweet-tart flavor that balances the richness of the cheese.
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice – Brightens the topping with fresh citrus notes that complement the cranberries.
  • Light brown sugar – Enhances sweetness and creates a caramelized touch in the topping.
  • Chopped walnuts – Contribute crunch and a nutty flavor for texture contrast.
  • Fresh rosemary – Infuses the brie with aromatic, earthy flavor and adds a festive touch.
  • Olive oil – Helps crisp and lightly roast the rosemary for enhanced flavor.

Tools you’ll need

Before starting the recipe, you’ll want to have all your kitchen essentials ready. I recommend having the following items:

  • Measuring spoons
  • Chopping board
  • Knife
  • Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven

Ways To Customize

Here are some easy and fun ways to customize your Air Fryer Orange Cranberry Baked Brie:

  • Switch the nuts – Use pecans, almonds, or pistachios instead of walnuts for a different crunch and flavor.
  • Try different fruit toppings – Replace cranberry sauce with raspberry preserves, fig jam, or apricot jam for a new twist.
  • Add a drizzle – Finish with a little honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness and shine.
  • Change up the herbs – Swap rosemary with thyme or sage for a subtle but tasty difference.
  • Add a little spice – Sprinkle in a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, or crushed red pepper for warmth or heat.
  • Serve it differently – Pair with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or even apple slices for variety.

How To Make It

Pre-heat Air Fryer at 356°F (180°C). Set at 8 minutes.

A dish with jam, melted butter, and brown sugar, a jar of jam, and a round of cheese on a plate are arranged on a white countertop.

In a small bowl, combine cranberry sauce, light brown sugar, and orange juice.

A wheel of brie cheese scored with a knife sits on a white plate, near a jar and bowl of red fruit jam with spoons on a marble surface.

Create crisscross slices at the top of the brie, 1/2 inch deep.

A round baked cheese topped with chopped nuts and fruit preserves sits on parchment paper in a black dish, with a jar of jam and an empty plate nearby.

Place a round parchment paper on the Air Fryer tray. Add the fresh sprigs of rosemary and lightly spray with olive oil, then top with the prepared brie.

Slather brie with the cranberry orange mixture and top with chopped walnuts.

Slowly insert the Air Fryer tray into the middle cooking chamber, near the rotisserie catch, if using an Air Fryer Oven. Air Fry for 8 minutes or until the walnuts are golden brown.

If using an Air Fryer basket, simply arrange the ingredients and use the inner basket.

A hand dips a cracker into a cheese wheel topped with chopped nuts and dried fruit, garnished with rosemary, orange slices, whole walnuts, and more crackers on a white plate.

Slowly transfer to a large round plate and serve with the remaining fresh rosemary, slices of fresh oranges, walnuts, and saltines.

Note

Score the top of the brie with a sharp knife before adding the topping—this allows the cheese to melt evenly and helps the cranberry-orange mixture soak into every bite.

Storage

If you have leftovers, let the baked brie cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container and storing it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

To reheat, place it back in the air fryer or oven at a low temperature (around 300°F/150°C) for a few minutes until warmed through and melty again. Avoid microwaving, as it can make the cheese rubbery and unevenly heated.

Helpful Hints

Pro tip: Serve While Melty!

Serve the brie immediately after cooking. This is when it’s at its meltiest and most irresistible.

More Helpful Hints:

  • Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  • Don’t overcook, or the brie can burst and spill out too much.
  • Use a sharp knife to score the top so the flavors soak in better.
  • Let the brie rest for 1–2 minutes before serving so it’s easier to transfer.
  • Pair with sturdy dippers like toasted baguette slices to handle the gooey cheese.

Serving Suggestions

This baked brie makes a gorgeous centerpiece for any appetizer spread. I like to serve it with a mix of crackers, toasted baguette slices, and even crisp apple wedges for a sweet contrast. The creamy cheese paired with a crunchy or fresh bite keeps each mouthful exciting.

If you’re planning a larger menu, this brie pairs beautifully with other air fryer appetizers. For something savory and hearty, try my Pineapple Chicken Kabob in Air Fryer for a protein-packed option that balances the sweetness of the brie. You could also set it alongside my Air Fryer Baked Feta with Tomatoes for another cheesy dish that brings bold Mediterranean flavors to the table.

I also love serving this brie as part of a holiday board with nuts, cured meats, and fresh herbs for garnish. The cranberry and orange topping gives it a festive flair, making it perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas. No matter how you serve it, this appetizer is one of those dishes that looks impressive but takes little effort to pull together.

FAQs

Yes, camembert is a great alternative since it has a similar creamy texture and mild flavor. Other cheeses won’t melt the same way, so brie or camembert works best.

You can assemble the brie with the topping a few hours in advance and keep it in the fridge until ready to cook. Just air fry right before serving so it stays warm and melty.

This brie pairs well with crackers, toasted baguette slices, apple wedges, or even pretzels. For a bigger spread, add nuts, charcuterie, or fresh veggies for dipping.
